So what's the difference between a coach and a mentor then..?

Below is a short explanation of the difference between both approaches.  If you would like to know more please contact us.

Productivity

COACHING

Unlike the stereotypical "tennis coach", coaching is not about instruction or guidance from experience but more about helping you find new ways of thinking to help you solve the challenges you face.  The coach will help the coachee to get to the route cause of their challenge and support them in coming up with the best resolution.

The three pillars of coaching are (1) Invitation - the client must want to use a coach, (2) Intent - the client must commit to making a change, (3) Independence - the true success of a coaching intervention is that the client is able to use their new skills on their own to take on the next challenge they are presented with.

Business Support

MENTORING

A mentor is a person who has actual experience and skills developed over time of working in businesses that they will share, support and guide a mentee with.  This is very directive compared to coaching as the mentor will be offering clear plans, ideas and solutions that have worked for them in their professional business life.

Business mentors can have experience of a wide range of commercial activities from budgeting, strategy development, planning, product development, marketing, staff recruitment and motivation to suit the specific requests of the mentee.  The relationship can be as long as required.
